Type 2 diabetes – risk factors

While many of the risk factors for type 2 diabetes are related to your family history and genetics there are some factors which can be controlled or reversed to assist in preventing Type 2 diabetes.

The following are the major risk factors for Type 2 diabetes and further information on each will be added in later posts:
• obesity
• sedentary lifestyle
• unhealthy eating habits
• family history and genetics
• increased age
• high blood pressure and high cholesterol
• history of gestational diabetes
